Once your innovation has run the CCI gauntlet of evaluations, enhancements, and marketing, it is now time to translate the innovation into a patient-benefitting product or company. In this session, CCI employees, inventors, industry representatives, and investors will discuss the various opportunities and strategies to execute agreements and launch new companies. The session will also feature a selection of case studies that will illustrate negotiation nuances and what inventors can expect when an agreement is executed. Attendees will also hear from CCI staff, who will offer an overview of how we work with inventors to not only translate their ideas into products and companies, but also how we work with our colleagues to develop them into seasoned and successful innovators.

A common perception of innovation is that it starts and ends with patents. In reality, there are many ways to protect an invention. We will discuss the "Dos and Don'ts" of protecting medical devices, therapeutics and diagnostics, health IT, and delivery solutions, illustrated by real-life case studies. The forum will also give an overview of the USPTO's recent implementation of the "First to File" directive.

We will talk abour your journey through the INVENT process, what each step entails and who is involved along the way in order to bring your product to market. The forum will also feature members of the Innovation Advisory Board (IAB) who will discuss the role of the IAB, provide an overview of the current commercial landscape, and underscore the benefits of working with our Incubators on key innovations.
