The Evolution, Enhancement, and Marketing of Your Inventions
Does your invention have what it takes? In this session we will look at how to go from ideation to cmmercial innovaiton. We will talk abour your journey through the INVENT process, what each step entails and who is involved along the way in order to bring your product to market. The forum will also feature members of the Innovation Advisory Board (IAB) who will discuss the role of the IAB, provide an overview of the current commercial landscape, and underscore the benefits of working with our Incubators on key innovations.

The National Technical Association is pleased to announce its 86th Annual National Conference. This noteworthy event will take place in Cleveland, Ohio, September 24-26, 2014. This year’s theme is “Computational Thinking for a STEM Future”. We will explore the ways computational tools are affecting every field of STEM and the implications for the future.
The Conference will consist of technically-oriented sessions, informative displays and a Career Fair. Panel discussions, workshops, seminars and the presentation of papers by professionals and students will center on the theme for this conference. The Various Strategies of Securing Intellectual Property
A common perception of innovation is that it starts and ends with patents. In reality, there are many ways to protect an invention. In this session, CCI employees and IP attorneys will discuss the nuances between protecting medical devices, therapeutics and diagnostics, health IT, and delivery solutions, as well as the impact of the USPTO's recent implementation of the "First to File" directive. In addition, attendees will learn how the current surge of value-based innovations could affect your IP strategy.

Delivering Innovations to Patients via Licenses or Start-ups
Once your innovation has run the CCI gauntlet of evaluations, enhancements, and marketing, it is now time to translate the innovation into a patient-benefitting product or company. In this session, CCI employees, inventors, industry representatives, and investors will discuss the various opportunities and strategies to execute agreements and launch new companies. The session will also feature a selection of case studies that will illustrate negotiation nuances and what inventors can expect when an agreement is executed. As costs continue to be removed from the healthcare, it appears to many that innovation will suffer. In this session, CCI and other outside experts will flip this perception on its head, by examining the unprecedented demand for “value-based” innovation, as well as new creative ways to get the resources needed to get your idea across the finish line.
