Protolabs teams up with Cleveland Clinic to bring ‘cool ideas’ to medtech market

Digital manufacturing company Protolabs (Maple Plain, MN) has teamed up with the Cleveland Clinic Healthcare Innovation Alliance to help bring novel healthcare ideas to fruition. Part of Protolabs' Cool Idea Award program, the winning submissions will receive in-kind manufacturing services from Protolabs to support development and eventual commercialization of the products.

NE Ohioans collaborate to envision, build solutions for disabled vets

Seventy area designers, engineers, computer programmers, medical specialists and others volunteered for the debut of a program created by the Colorado-based nonprofit group, Challenge America, in conjunction with the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System and Cleveland Clinic Innovations.

Cardinal Health Partners with Perioperative Nurse to Alleviate Impact of Heat in the Operating Room

Cardinal Health officially launched the CoolSource™ Cooling System, a vest that was invented by Jill Byrne, MSN, RN, CNOR, and PhD student at Case Western Reserve University. Byrne sought to ease the distress of fellow OR clinicians and surgeons caused by excessive heat in the operating room. She saw first-hand how heat in the OR affected her team every day.

These solutions aim to produce dramatic improvements in the daily lives of Veterans, their loved ones, and many others who face similar challenges.
