Cleveland Clinic’s 2019 Medical Innovation Summit was one for the books. A revered tradition with a 17-year history, the Summit brought together clinicians, industry, investors, payors, and policy experts to connect with the methods to impact real change, strategize to streamline care, discover emerging companies with actionable ideas to move healthcare forward, and ignite an internal drive to improve operational, technological, and patient outcomes in these changing times. The Summit tackled AI and its integration into provider systems and pharma research, as well as the movements of non-traditional participants and personalization in healthcare. Economic models needed to make care delivery more efficient and effective were also an essential part of the conversation. With 28 hours of content over the course of three days, #MIS2019 left its mark on the healthcare conference landscape.

Global Impact at MIS2019
Delegations from around the world came to Cleveland to share in healthcare innovation at MIS2019. Topping out at 17 countries, the Medical Innovation Summit gathered attendees from all over the world. To cater to this international audience – and the local audience with an interest in healthcare abroad – MIS again held its International Insights program.
Last year, International Insights comprised a half day with nearly 2 hours of content. But with today’s healthcare transcending borders and impacting lives on every continent, MIS recognizes the important conversations to be had amongst worldwide leaders. Due to its success and importance, International Insights was expanded to a day-long program at MIS2019. At International Insights, government, industry, and international policy leaders talked everything from medical innovation and investment to ethics and care delivery on a global scale. Speakers from North America, South America, Asia, and Europe contributed actionable insights for all those in attendance.
In our ever-shrinking world, healthcare professionals have the opportunity to learn from and leverage one another to deliver the best care to their populations. Discussions like those held at International Insights are an important step toward better care worldwide.
