Nearly two years ago, Cleveland Clinic Innovations and Murata Electronics, a Japanese manufacturer of electronic components, entered into a collaboration agreement to identify potential opportunities to jointly develop novel medical technologies. Last month, both organizations agreed to expand the relationship as Murata formally joined Cleveland Clinic’s Healthcare Innovation Alliance program.
As an Innovation Alliance member, Murata and Cleveland Clinic will continue scouting for appropriate projects for co-development and commercialization that can improve patient care and effectively address clinical unmet needs. Additionally, Murata will join the broad network of clinical, operational and technical leaders represented across the Innovation Alliance network who share a common goal of developing and commercializing novel medical technologies. Furthermore, Cleveland Clinic Innovations will provide commercialization advice, market insight, and connectivity to clinical key opinion leaders to help inform Murata’s growing healthcare product portfolio.
We are excited to welcome Murata to the Innovation Alliance community. Murata’s capabilities and infrastructure represent a significant opportunity to collaborate to improve patient care. We have already begun work on several key initiatives and look forward to continuing and strengthening the collaboration over time.
