The Cleveland Clinic Innovation Alliance brings together a diverse group of provider and industry organizations that are dedicated to transforming healthcare through the invention, development and commercialization of solutions that improve patient care. In pursuit of this mission, the Alliance is always looking to add partners that will complement our inventors’ ideas and extend the transformative abilities of the community.
In April 2019, Protolabs, a Minnesota-based digital manufacturing company, joined the Innovation Alliance and together with Cleveland Clinic Innovations, launched the Cool Idea Award: Healthcare Grant. The award to be issued biannually, will provide in-kind prototyping or production capabilities that support the development of technologies from inventor communities across the Alliance program. Ideal projects for award consideration will be those with completed CAD drawings that can leverage Protolabs’ 3D printing, machining, sheet metal fabrication, or injection molding capabilities. Recipients of the Cool Idea Award: Healthcare Grant will be chosen by a panel of both Cleveland Clinic and Protolabs representatives.
